so so true. Everyone said "you've done it before so you know what to do". Not true!!! I've never taken care of 2 kids at once before. I've never been sleep deprived for 7 months because my kids (beautiful, wonderful little girls) don't sleep/eat/play at the same time.
Luckilly our 7 mth old has started crawling and interacting with our 2 yo. And... the last couple of nights, I've only been up once to feed. There is light at the end of the "having a new born in the house" tunnel and it ends with a smile from both of my girls.

I know! How anyone would think that adding another child to your family would not have a major effect and steep learning curve is beyond me! But we are amazing, we do learn and adapt- there are just those days when it feels as if we won't.

Reading this reminds me of what a minefield we face every day as a parent!

Crikey! Even something which seems as simple as thinking that a little one is 'playing up' when they don't want to get dressed could have so much more to it that we need to understand. Thank you for your clear, well explained thought on this - it makes me remember that I need to take a deep breath, step back and get onto my son's level whenever I possibly can!
